Volunteers gather outside of the facility

Volunteers at Life Care Center of Greeneville, Tennessee, received celebrity-level treatment at an appreciation banquet on April 19, 2018.

“It is so very touching to see the number of volunteers that serve at our facility,” says Hope Broyles, director of business development at the Greeneville facility. “They love the residents as their own.”

One hundred fifty volunteers currently serve at the nursing facility. With 151 beds at the facility, the work is never-ending, with specific jobs ranging from crafts, helping with resident outings and conducting Bible studies.

“We are very blessed,” says Broyles, recognizing the tremendous impact that volunteers have on the facility.

Volunteers were served baked ziti at the event, and a red carpet was rolled out before arrival to celebrate attendees as they entered. Volunteers received door prizes as well as a token of appreciation for all they do.

Of the 50 volunteers who attended the event, two tied for the most volunteer experience at 30 years each. All the volunteers had positive feedback on the event and enjoyed getting to spend an evening with fellow attendees.
